I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from MUHS (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) University, India, in the year 2003. This included 4 years of medical training and 1 year of internship at Mumbadevi Homeopathic Hospital, Mumbai, India. Following this, I got a Diploma in Dietetics And Nutrition (DND) from the IOSM University, India.

I began my clinical practice in 2004. I believe in the concept of family practice and treatment from very young to very old. I've held free homeopathic consultation and medicine camps at my home Parish (St. Francis Xavier Church, Vile Parle, Mumbai India). I helped set-up the charitable homeopathic clinic at Sacred Heart Church, Andheri, Mumbai, India and practiced there. My family and extended family help and support me in all my ventures. It is with their love, support and blessings that I'm able to continue my perusal for homeopathic practice here in the United States as well.

Homeopathy is very well known for chronic diseases; however very few know that it also shows excellent results in acute conditions such as colds and flu, diarrhea, rashes etc. My clinical practice began in the suburbs of Mumbai city, India where I consulted with parents, their children and grandparents. This helped me in turn become their Homeopathic Family Physician. I strongly believe that homeopathy can help all ages and not only chronic but also acute diseases/conditions. By strengthening your inner immune system it keeps acute ailments at bay and gives you the strength to fight long-standing ailments (such as arthritis, skin conditions, respiratory conditions etc.).

And it need not be taken alone,it can be used alongside conventional medicine when necessary to give an integrated approach to your healthcare examples of which include diabetes, hypertension etc.

Case:

A 44year old man visited the clinic with the chief complaint of skin problems. He had skin peeling off of his palms with some deep and superficial cracks. Water-proof bandaids were around his finger nails. He had cracks running between his fingers. He mentioned his previous visits to a skin specialist who had confirmed this as ‘palmo-plantar psoriasis’ and he had been treated in the past with oral steroids and local applications. The patient had also tried Ayurvedic therapy and had turned to homeopathy as a last resort.

Restless, perfectionist, easily angered if things did not go his way, status conscious, jealous, taking refuge in alcohol.

I decided to go with Nux vomica in this case. I gave the patient three dose of 200c potency to be taken at night only for three consecutive nights

In the second week I saw some improvement and the cracks seemed to heal up. The healing was faster than I expected cause it usually does not happen so fast except if I was on steroids. As you’d suggested I had not applied any lotions and even band-aids to my cracking palm which was not easy to do. My children are quite concerned and do not like to look at my hands. But see now….it’s gone….it’s clean…..three weeks later my old cracks had healed and there were new ones coming but they were not deep and they were not painful. My hands as of today look good as they did before. 

My assessment based on this information was that the Nux vomica had helped the patient. There was a noted aggravation initially and later the skin affections started healing. The newer cracks seemed to be manageable. With his family and financial situation under control this seemed to be a solved case at that moment. Psoriasis is not an affection that disappears forever and trigger points do exist. I asked the patient to continue to see me in a month’s time and as of now he did not need further medication.
