I am a homeopathy and a metabolic balance coach with offices in Walnut Creek and Winters, CA. I am interested in helping women & men achieve their natural balance in health and wellness. I graduated from Pacific Academy of Homeopathy in San Francisco in 2006 and went on to train as a metabolic balance coach in 2011. Metabolic balance is a whole-foods approach to balancing a person's unique chemistry. I have found that a balanced metabolism helps remove inflammation and speed healing. Homeopathy and metabolic balance are the prefect pair to promote optimal health long term. This summer I have partnered with Amy Erez, Sugi Way Mentor to offer an introductory a program called Balanced Living http://myranissen.com/blog/findyourbalancewithbalancedliving-program.

Travel case and advice:
Don’t forget to pack Calendula lotion for relief from mild sunburn. Cantharis vesicatoria can be taken internally for severe sunburn that is burning and raw with large blisters.

Vacations are meant to be restorative, fun and relaxing. Why waste time dealing with motion sickness, jet lag, injuries or illness? Consider packing a homeopathic first aid kit before you hit the road!

Here is real life example of how homeopathy helped Heather (name changed to protect privacy) not lose out on vacation activities. Heather is a hard worker, loves parties, and overdoes drink and food, especially fatty, spicy foods that often lead to indigestion. Last quarter she exceeded her sales quota. Her company awarded her with a cruise.  Heather takes vacations seriously and took advantage of the social activities, free buffets, wine tasting, and fancy cocktails offered on board. After a while, she was not feeling so well. Her head felt woozy and she wondered if she was getting seasick. The persistent breeze on deck made her irritable. Heather said she felt nauseous, as if there was a stone pressing on her stomach, yet could not vomit. She had to lie down loosen her clothes. A traveling companion happen to have a homeopathic first aid kit and recognized that Heather needed a homeopathic remedy, Nux-vomica. After one or two doses, Heather was feeling much better and was able to return to the festivities.
A person needing the homeopathic remedy Nux-vomica tends to be an irritable, competitive, hardworking, executive type who is inclined to overindulge in eating and drinking. Due to the effects of overindulgence, they usually wake at 3 am and are unable to go back to sleep.  There is a tendency for constipation and nausea but they are unable to sufficiently relieve themselves and all symptoms are worse in the wind. Nux-vomica can be thought of as the remedy to antidote the effects of much overdoing, jet lag, and the ill-effects of eating unfamiliar foods while on vacation.
Examples of remedies that might be useful for travel is Arsenicum album is useful in the event of food poisoning. Arsenicum could be indicated for extreme restlessness with fears, burning pains, and severe abdominal cramping with nausea and vomiting.
Cocculus indicus and Ipecacuanha are great remedies for motion sickness. Ipecacuanha is indicated in nausea that seems to have no relief, while Cocculus alleviates vertigo.
